ESCAPE TO VICTORY!
Church came literally back from the dead to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat with a miraculous 4 goal come back. A quarter final place was at stake as Church travelled to South Redditch and the picturesque village of Feckenham. Previous memories of this peaceful and idyllic little village were tainted somewhat by an over-active parking attendant (more info ask the Adams family) and a recent late loss in the league after dominating the game.
But this was the cup, a different kettle of fish and that was clearly evident in the opening 10 minutes as Church conceded 3 quick goals which resulted in the mammoth task of keeping a clean sheet for the next 80 minutes and also scoring at least 3 goals. There were a number of factors that contributed to what must be described as the worst start in the clubs history in any level of football match played. However, great credit must also be given to the players who turned the result around. Joe Adams, Ross Kendall and Anthony Savery were all immense in terms of effort, work rate and self belief and Kev Jones this weeks Tuzza MoM! completely changed the game back in Church's favour in the final 25 minutes with his pace, skill and finishing, but particularly his pace!!!!!!!! which at times was unreal.

The game itself saw South dominate the opening 10 minutes scoring 3 goals from 3 chances and only a flicked header from player manager Beauch gave Church any real hope as they entered half time. A motivational half time team talk by Pabs coupled with the introduction of Kev Jones saw Church snatch a dramatic late draw thanks to a scrambled goal from Matty Harris. Extra time came and went and a neat move down the right hand side resulted in a cross of Jones being converted by Grogan to seal a famous victory.
There are many lessons to be learnt from this week’s game; firstly that we can achieve anything when we put our minds to it but more importantly that you cannot burn the candle at both ends!!!!!!!!!!
